Inco wakes in a world where his parents are dead – and so is the sun. Therefore, the entire universe is actually dead. Inco is the only living human being who survived the end of the universe. He lives in the darkness and amuses himself with broken toys. Though he is all alone, he doesn’t cry. He looks into the dark space with his telescope maybe to take a chance and find the answers to his questions.
This is how the new iPhone game Incoboto begins.
Along the way, Inco meets Helios – a childish, sun-like entity who gets excited very easily. Helios laughs like a kid and totally acts like one too. But Helios is a bit strange because he keeps pointing on stuff that he can fix if Inco finds more fuel for him. Inco and Helios are the perfect duo in the destructed universe.
Inco and Helios build a friendship. Inco wants to find someone while Helios wants to have someone who can help him get nourished. Inco finds the stars and Helios gobbles them down to gain power.
Incoboto is a product of Dene Carter’s imaginative mind. This 2D side-scroll game has been made available for test over the past week.
The classic game Super Mario Galaxy plays a huge role in the design of the core of Incoboto. The creative approach was in recognition to the creative work of the classic video game. If Super Mario Galaxy was compressed into a 2D game, that would be Incoboto. However, to isolate it from the classic game, this new iPhone game was tweaked and injected with new features that will certainly amuse iPhone players. It’s simple and fun – like Super Mario Galaxy.
At the center of Incoboto, it’s actually a puzzle game. The player acts the role of Inco who collects stars to feed Helios. Yet, the challenge is in the collecting because most of the stars are difficult to reach and require a few trick before you can get them all. You will run into challenges like lining up rods to complete a circuit, turning switches on and off by throwing rocks or explosives, or balancing the world before you can get those stars.
As you go through every challenge and phase, you will gain more tools that can help you get those stars. At the start, you will be given a glove to protect you when throwing rocks or explosives. With the progress of the game, the stars become more difficult to collect but with your tools and experience, it will definitely be a fun adventure.
