Xbox Games: The Best of 2011

This is a topic that is quite loaded considering the varied opinions of Xbox games fanatics. But never having treaded carefully before, here are some reasons that I find the following games truly jaw-dropping in its visual effects and gaming abilities.

Red Dead Redemption: This is by far one of my favorite Xbox games – A true triumph in gaming for the year 2011. This game is a throwback to a Western movie but in a kind of a GTA jacket way. Packed with surprises at every turn, this game is chockablock full of missions and side quests. So if you hunger for a Western game that will put any John Wayne movie to shame, then look no further than Red Dead Redemption. With the interesting storyline for those that care about that kind of thing, this game is for those that want to pick up a piece of weaponry and blast their way across the arid terrain. If you’re in the mood for something a little less blood pumping, the game is also packed with seven mini games like Texas hold ‘em and the like that would keep you entertained for hours on end. Still not impressed? You can even create your own reputation in a lot of the cities that you travel to buy creating your own bandits or sheriff.

Halo: The series: This is one of the Xbox games that has constituted tremendously to what the Xbox 360 experience is all about. In this role-playing game, the player assumes the role of Master chief as he strives to evade the Universe of aliens hell-bent on destroying Earth. So if zombie games are what you are into then Halo will definitely deliver. Halo really lends itself to online play where CTF, King of the Hill and Versus are just some of the gaming modes available to players.

Portal2: this is one of the greatest single player Xbox games that will never stop entertaining. The player receives the special portal gun that can be used to transport the player from one room to the next. These rooms are testing rooms where the player must solve a puzzle before moving on. What is cool is how the testing program pokes fun at the player every time that he or she is stumped. For those that prefer multiplayer games, Portal2 also offers a unique multiplayer campaign that has even the biggest skeptics singing its praises.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim: Of all the Xbox games that are first-person and third person RPG, Skyrim is a feast for the ears and eyes. This game would have you in a medieval world where knights and magicians along with archers are perched on mountain tops in an attempt to protect the valleys from attack. With its engaging storyline, Skyrim promises over 18 hours of playtime and for a gaming purist – a virtual dream come true!

Choosing any of these three games will rock your gaming world. So whether its heart pounding action, mind-numbing special-effects, or challenging puzzles that you seek, Xbox games in the year 2011 have delivered.
